The New University Hospital in Aarhus (DNU) is located by the existing Aarhus University Hospital, Skejby, and together they will function as a new, large hospital. The project is Denmark's largest hospital building.
The first parts of the hospital opened in 2017 and the remaining parts opens as they are finished.
In the hospital there are several atriums, common areas and hallways. In these areas, natural ventilation solution has been installed with automatically controlled windows.
The chosen natural ventilation solution covers all sustainability principles by creating a natural fresh indoor climate with a low energy consumption, saving space and economically beneficial.
WindowMaster has delivered approx. 7000 window openers with MotorLink® technology for DNU. MotorLink® technology was chosen to deliver a reliable, flexible and intelligent system of automatically controlled window actuators with easy integration to the BMS. A number of windows are used for both natural ventilation and smoke ventilation.
The design of the ventilation principle varies from site to site depending on the layout of the space. As such, there are both single-sided ventilation, cross-ventilated and areas using stack ventilation.
