When planning for a new school outside of Glasgow, South Lanarkshire Council decided to incorporate natural ventilation into their indoor climate management strategy.
To do this, they chose to automate the facade windows of their new school project with WindowMaster's MotorLink® technology. This allows for fresh air and sustainable cooling in the school which enhances student productivity and wellbeing. In addition to the natural ventilation, the school employs natural smoke ventilation as part of their fire safety strategy with the FlexiSmoke™ WSC 540 panel.
There are multiple areas throughout the school that are designed with natural ventilation: the library, gymnasium, corridors, and stairwell areas to maximize natural cooling and minimize the requirement for expensive mechanical cooling.
The actuators feature Motorlink® technology, which ensures precise and accurate control of all actuators in the building. The same technology provides millimetre-by-millimetre position control to ensure a comfortable indoor climate, rain or shine. The technology also enables two-way communication between the actuators and MotorController which allows the BMS to accurately position the windows.
