Gentofte Hospital has undergone several expansions and restorations since it was built in 1927. In 2010, a 1000 m2 area consisting of a new foyer and new connecting corridors were added to the old building.
The foyer is ventilated by means of natural stack ventilation and the corridors by natural cross ventilation. Air replacement takes place through automatically controlled windows, which are placed high in the façade to avoid draughts. In the foyer, the windows are placed in two levels, which is ideal for effective stack ventilation.
12 ventilation zones are individually controlled based on temperature. In each zone, a control panel has been installed for manual override of the system. This gives the users the possibility to adjust the windows, if more or less fresh air is needed. After 30 minutes, the system changes back to automatic control.
WindowMaster further controls the solar shades on the façade and the foyer. The solar shades are controlled based on lux measurements and in case of fire, the shades will automatically go up. In the foyer, a control panel allows the users to manually control the solar shades.
