Health Care
NV Advance®, FlexiSmoke™
2015
The new psychiatric hospital in Slagelse, Denmark was completed in September 2015. The building was named Denmark's most modern psychiatric hospital.
Moreover, the building is the largest of its kind in recent time, and demonstrates pioneering skills within architecture, light, art and nature, all of which are important elements of modern psychiatric treatment.
In the hospital's hallways, common areas, atrium, recreation areas, TV-rooms, gymnastics facilities and massage rooms, natural ventilation has been established via automated opening. The openings are a mix of façade windows, skylights and mechanical dampers.
The personal load varies widely in the areas concerned, which the system accounts for and adapts its air inlet accordingly. The ventilation design varies from site to site depending on the layout of the space and both single-sided ventilation, cross-ventilated and stack ventilation is applied.
A total of 78 zones are naturally ventilated like this with WindowMasters NV Advance® operating system. The system furthermore ensures two-way data communication with the building’s BMS.
Motor controllers and smoke controllers with KNX are supplied to more than 400 window actuators in facades and roofs. In each zone, the actuators can be manually overridden.
