The Bolsover School was one of the first three schools to be built under the Building Schools for the Future programme in Derbyshire and features the NV Advance™ control system from WindowMaster.
WindowMaster was selected by mechanical and electrical engineering contractors Derry Building Services because it is able to provide an integrated approach to control of the heating and natural ventilation systems in the schools and the entire system was wired and controlled by just one company.
WindowMaster supplied and mounted all the actuators and installed a control interface to the heating system. The control system will also control the windcatchers supplied by sister company Monodraught.
Natural ventilation was also selected because studies undertaken by organisations such as the Building Research Establishment (BRE) have shown that environmental design and air quality can significantly affect the behaviour and attainment levels of pupils.
